I Heart Me

Alas, I have gotten around to starting my blog. One of those things in my life that I'll say I'll start in order to promote my creativity, but never do. But ha! Take that unachieved goals, I've proved you wrong once again..

What to expect, you ask, from this wonderful, groundbreaking blog?

Just think of all those timely and relevant forwards I send all of you, mix it with a bit of my drunken rants on pop culture, politics, and whatever else I cant remember, maybe some heartwarming life stories (thought I doubt it), and a bunch of other bullshit - then you'll get House of Lakme. Yeah, I really don't know either, but I have big plans for this site. ($1.75 billion sale to Google here I come!)

But whenever I send an article, recommend a song or tv show or movie, discuss some policy issue, I'm just trying to engage and inspire my friends, to include them in on something that I am being inspired or moved by at the moment. Whether its a social cause or something more frivolous as the new Balenciaga collection (to be discussed in forthcoming posting), I want my dear friends to also know, be curious, and gain passion from those things.

One of the main intentions behind this blog was also to keep a form of one-way communication open w my good friends in other cities around the country and the world. I know I don't get to talk to you as much as we would like, but I hope this is a way of giving you a look at the experiences, thoughts, and interests in my current life.

And I know that not everyone (ie. no one) responds to my forwards that I send in hopes of striking up some intellectual conversation, but promise me this - that you guys will at least post comments in reponse to some of these postings. That way I'll know that some of you love me, and this blog is not just a futile test of my self-worth. Ha! Just kidding. Or not?!?!

Excuse the lack of any form of creativity when it came to the blog design - I'm still learning about this whole blogging thing, so I promise to provide a more aesthetically pleasing site in the long run.

And if you guys have any suggestions for topics and whatnot, well...then get your own damned blog.
